Welcome to the Old Manse, in the historic village of Warkworth...
Warkworth has an enviable position sitting within an oxbow loop of the river Coquet, on the heritage coastline of North Northumberland. First time visitors to this largely undiscovered county are astonished by the beauty of the surrounding countryside, the quiet roads and beaches, and the wide range of activities, sports, historic buildings and wildlife in the area.
Warkworth is dominated by its ancient castle, though visitors are also drawn to the Church of St. Lawrence, first mentioned in 738AD!
While Warkworth is an ideal touring base, we also offer a half day tour for any guests who wish to leave their car behind.
The village has an excellent selection of good restaurants, pubs and coffee houses, and the nearby villages are also well worth an an evening visit. Fashions and standards alter, so we will always be happy to recommend our current favourites.
